These terms cover your use of the WOOF app, published by Hugo Software. By installing or using WOOF you accept them.
1. What WOOF is — and what it is not
WOOF listens to a bark through your microphone, measures its acoustic characteristics, and matches those measurements to one of eight built-in mood profiles.
WOOF is for entertainment only. It is a reading of how a sound was produced, not a translation. Dogs do not have a language that can be translated, and no app can tell you what an animal is thinking.
WOOF is not veterinary, medical, behavioural or diagnostic advice, and must never be used as a basis for decisions about an animal's health, training or welfare. If you are concerned about an animal, consult a qualified vet. You use the readings at your own risk.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use WOOF on devices you control. You may not resell, rent, reverse-engineer, decompile or redistribute the app, or remove any notices from it.
3. WOOF PRO subscription
WOOF is free to download. Reading barks is free and unlimited. Some features are part of WOOF PRO:
- Unlimited journal and full history
- Weekly mood chart
- All six sounds in Speak
- Up to five dog profiles, each with its own journal
- Dog-years converter
Price and billing. WOOF PRO is an auto-renewing subscription of USD 3.99 per week (the amount shown in your local currency in Google Play is the amount charged), starting with a 3-day free trial for users who have not subscribed to WOOF before.
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account when the free trial ends.
- The subscription renews automatically every week until you cancel.
- To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancel or manage the subscription in the Google Play app: Profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Uninstalling WOOF does not cancel a subscription.
- If you cancel, PRO stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
Refunds are handled by Google under Google Play's refund policy. We do not process payments and cannot issue refunds directly. Where the law of your country gives you a statutory right of withdrawal or refund, that right applies and nothing here limits it.
Price changes. If the price changes, Google notifies you in advance and the new price applies only after you consent, as required by Google Play's rules.
4. Your content
Readings, dog profiles and journal entries stay on your device. We never receive them, so we claim no rights over them — and we cannot recover them for you if the device is lost, reset, or the app uninstalled. Keeping your device backed up is your responsibility.
5. Availability
We may update, change or discontinue the app or any feature. We will not knowingly break an active paid subscription period; if we discontinue WOOF PRO, we will stop selling it and let existing periods run out.
6. Disclaimer and liability
WOOF is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that a reading is accurate, meaningful or fit for any purpose — see section 1.
To the extent permitted by law, Hugo Software is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any harm arising from reliance on a reading. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.
7. Termination
You may stop using WOOF at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend access if the app is used unlawfully or in breach of these terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
